Red booty and Pirate's Booty

Al the last week Hannah has had a killer diaper rash. Just before we left for the daycare today I let her have some diaper free time and she used it to enjoy a bag of Pirate's Booty I had left out. Sneaky girl!

Hannah's new car

A few days ago we were visiting Hannah's AbuelaKeta, Tia Maribel, and cousins. We saw Isai's old Cozy Coupe outside and said Hannah would need one of those soon. Tia and Isai gave it to Hannah! So we brought the Cozy Coupe home, cleaned it up, and now Hannah has a fancy red car!!

After she drove around a while she was so hot and sweaty (and teething so her gums hurt) so she had a red popsicle to help things - her very first one.

Lunch with Grandpa nad Uncle Brian

Dad came to Austin to help Brian with some things today so Hannah and I met them for lunch. We ate at Mama Fu's and Hannah had Ninja Noodles. Ninja Noodles are fabulous - almost as good as mac and cheese, but not quite!

Brian tried to feed Hannah some Goldfish with chopsticks (try being the operative word here. Hannah took the Goldfish from the chopsticks with her hand and then ate it!)

First birthday party

Be prepared - if you look at all the pictures you are going to be here a while! Hannah had a fabulous first birthday celebration on Saturday. We celebrated at the San Marcos Children's Park and although it was HOT HOT HOT, it was a great location. Hannah had some of her favorite people there - AbuelaKeta, Grandma, Grandpa, aunts, uncles, cousins - it was wonderful. And she made out on the gifts! I want to turn one again!

Hannah waited eagerly to greet her guests

Lunch was good, but those cupcakes were awfully tempting!

Hannah got her first rocking horse - eh - moose

"Hey, I recognize this piano - it's the one I liked at Babies R Us!"

"Hmmm, what's in here?"

"All for me?!?"

"MMMMMM, I think I like this!"

"Yay! This cake stuff is fun!"

"Now look people, I didn't do this to my face. Grandpa smeared the sweet stuff on me!"

"Have I told you how fun this is?!"

"I like this book!"

"Can you hear the music?"

Go, go, go!

The party is over...

After Hannah had a way to short nap in the car on the way to her Grandma's after the party it was still crazy hot. What's better when it's crazy hot than SWIMMING?!

Lunch with Uncle Brian

Hannah was up bright and early and stood up all on her own against the back door to see her pups.

Today we went to lunch at the River Pub in San Marcos for Brian's birthday. Hannah was happy to see that her Uncle Brian had shaved and was no longer a scary, hairy face!

Hannah had zucchini for the first time - and Grandpa tried to feed it to her off a shovel!

Then Grandpa gave her a lemon to taste! Ewww! (shiver)

It's not easy to get a nice picture of the whole family with these people!

Big, big day!

I have a picture to add later, but I wanted to get down Hannah's big day. Today she had broccoli for the first time, grabbed her spoon for the first time, climbed into Isai's lap (on the floor) for the first time, and just now pulled up onto both feet for the first time!
*******************************************
First taste of broccoli (mixed with sweet potatoes)

I had to be quick so excuse the bad picture. This is how Hannah tells us she's sleepy these days. We leave a pillow on the floor and when she puts her head down on it it's bedtime!

Hannah's foods

I've been thinking today about how many foods Hannah eats and decided to try to list them all. Here we go:
pureed foods/smooth
peas
sweet potato
carrot
squash (various kinds)
avocado
apple
banana
pear
peach
plum
strawberry
blueberry
mango
rice cereal
oatmeal
yogurt
beef
chicken
turkey
finger foods
rice
potato
apple
carrot
pear
blueberry
Toasted O's

I feel like I'm forgetting some, but that's what I remember off the top of my head. She loves her food!

Happy warm house Teresa!

This morning started out with fresh mangos.

mmmm, mangos are good!

Hey, where's the mango!?

After breakfast Hannah and I set out for San Antonio. Pete stayed home to deal with all kinds of work stuff.

First Hannah and I picked up Dad and went to meet Grandpa and Mom. The 5 of us ate lunch a Luby's. Hannah got an orange balloon. Balloons are fun!

Then we all went over to Teresa's house for her house warming party. There were so many people there! Hannah was overwhelmed. There was no way she could nap - what if she missed something?!

First she played with Brendan who is 6 months.

Then he spent a little time with her Tia Teresa.

Grandma took her out in the sunshine for a while.

Teresa opened all kinds of neat gifts, like a lucky bamboo!

Hannah slept thru the gift opening, finally!

Poor Isis and Apricot - they were stuck in the yard all day with only Tomás for company! OK, not really. They had lots of company all day long.

Before we left Hannah said goodbye to her new friend Brendan. Maybe she'll see him again around Tia Teresa's house!

Macaroni

Macaroni was not a big hit. I'm not sure if it was actually the macaroni or if it was because Hannah did not nap today and was EXHAUSTED. OK, she slept alright in the morning, but her afternoon nap consisted of 30 minutes of whimpering and 5 minutes of talking before someone slammed the door and woke her up to stay.

Saturday

This was a cold and rainy day, but we stayed warm inside and watched Hannah crawl away from her Uncle Brian.

There she goes!

Gotta rest...

Dad cooked steak for us for my birthday so I thought it fitting that Hannah have beef for the first time.
