Doors and locks

Hope you all had a good Ash Wednesday. Hannah did!

For a while now Hannah has been interested in doors. Going in and out, opening and closing is so much fun. Most of all slamming them shut is really fun. So when I heard her calling me and found her shut in the bath room earlier today I wasn't very surprised. However, I was surprised when I tried to open the door and it was locked! Luckily our inside doors can be unlocked with a coin!

Here are a few pictures that I didn't get posted from the weekend - or rather from Monday before Hannah and I left Mom and Dad's house.

Can you find her?

After we got home I was making dinner and Hannah was playing in the dining area. She had a rattle so when I looked over and saw her shaking something I just thought how funny it was that the rattle kept her attention so long. However, it was not the same "rattle".

Hannah had gotten the pepper shaker and was shaking it all out onto the table. What you see here isn't even a third of what was on the chair and floor!

So I moved Hannah to her own table with her new map pencils. Her crayons kept her happy for a while, but she really wants to use "grown up" stuff and the pencils seem to be close enough for now.

Christmas Day

Hannah, Pete and I woke up together at our house, found Hannah's wagon and book/cd from Santa, and opened stockings. Soon after Nah-ma, Grandpa, Uncle Harry, Uncle Brian, and Grandpa Joe arrived to spend the day with us.

This was one of the most special Christmas' we've ever had.

Happy New Year!

I have so many pictures from Christmas to share but I'm just not up to it right now. We didn't do much for New Year's Eve, just went out for dinner and then were home before 8pm, but it was nice. We also had a pretty benign New Year's day. Lots of laundry and a visit from Pete's family were the extent of our excitement. Here is one picture of Hannah multi tasking today. She is helping with all that laundry stacked behind her, helping her boys take their naps, and eating he yogurt (with her fingers and she opened it herself!!)

Christmas pictures

Earlier this month I made an attempt at Christmas card pictures. I was actually pretty happy with one of the pictures, but not as a Christmas card picture. Hannah was just not in the mood. She spent most of the photo shoot sitting on my knees. I got this one:
which I love, but isn't really what I wanted. Not Christmas-y.

And this one:

Which is more like what I wanted, but not as polished as the first one.

So my friend McGee offered to give it a try. Click here to see the results.
I was waiting to post them until all my family should have gotten their card. Everyone probably hasn't gotten them just yet, but the cards are mailed so it's close enough.

Busy day

Hannah and I met some friends today at Southpark Meadows. As usual Hannah loved the slide. This time she got to slide with her friend George.

Hannah, Campbell, and George played the drums.

The slides are the very most fun.

Do you know that this is a "tee taw"? Hannah loves to tee taw, especially with her friend Campbell.

Green girl

I absolutely did not expect her to make it up, but I promise these pictures are taken back to back with no one going to help her at all!

Later in the afternoon Hannah, Pete and I went to meet Mom and go to North Pole Village. NPV is a community event that is done near Mom's house. There is a "village" in the community center. You can go to the "petting barn" (puppies from the animal shelter), the "bakery" (decorate cookies), "school house" (make a tree ornament), "library" (get a book to keep), "post office" (write and mail a letter to Santa), "toy shop" (choose a stuffed animal to keep), and several more places including pictures with Santa.

We skipped Santa pictures since facial hair is really scary. We took Hannah to the end of the line, pointed out Santa and asked if she wanted to go see Santa. She shook her head and emphatically said "NO!"

Decorating cookies

Choosing a book with Grandma

Finding the perfect stuffed dog (with a belly button)

After that the camera batteries died, but se had a lot more fun!
